食べやすい easy to eat, 分かりにくい hard to understand

Verb stem + やすい = easy to do; + にくい = hard to do. Both become い-adjectives (使いやすい → 使いやすかった). Great for reviews and descriptions: この薬は飲みやすい (this medicine is easy to take), 字が読みにくい (the writing is hard to read).

Watch out

These describe an inherent property of the thing, not your momentary ability — “this pen is easy to write with” (書きやすい), not “I can write”. For your own ability, use the potential form instead.
