What you can do with it

Use your avatar as a profile picture, a stream or video icon, a Discord or Slack avatar, a class handout, a sticker — personal or commercial, no credit needed. You may not resell the generated image on its own as stock art, and Kanji Sensei stays the mascot of this site. Every part is original vector art drawn for Kanji Library, so there is no stock licence to worry about and nothing to attribute.

The hanko

The red square in the corner is a hanko (判子), the personal seal Japanese people use instead of a signature. Real ones carry a family name, but yours can carry any one or two kanji: try 学 (study), 心 (heart), 力 (power), 夢 (dream), 猫 (cat) or the first kanji of your own name. Not sure what a character means? Every one of them has a page here — start from the N5 list or the radicals, and if you want the sound too, the kanji quiz reads them aloud.

About the character

漢字先生 (Kanji Sensei) is the owl who runs this library — round glasses, red haori, brush always in wing. Owls see in the dark, which is roughly what reading two thousand kanji feels like at first. The art is generated from plain shapes and paths, which is why the maker is instant and why the file you download stays sharp at any size.
