Connecting adjectives — 〜くて and 〜で
Listing two qualities in one sentence: 安くておいしい — cheap and tasty
To list two or more adjectives in one sentence (“cheap and tasty,” “quiet and clean”), い-adjectives change くて; な-adjectives (and nouns) just add で — the same で used after です's stem.
How to form it
| Pattern | Example |
|---|---|
| い-adjective: drop い, add くて | 安い → 安くて — (is) cheap, and… |
| な-adjective/noun + で | 静か → 静かで — (is) quiet, and… |

Watch out
Using くて after a な-adjective (静かくて) or で after an い-adjective (安いで) is the classic mix-up — the ending always matches the adjective's own type, regardless of what the second adjective is.
